I am sending all of you that are freezing, a bit of California warmth. We have had warm sunny weather this week and I know many of you are hunkered down with very low temps. Stay warm and safe. We have rain today which is much needed. The chickens love it and are splashing about in the water. Enjoy the sunflowers.
Today I just realized would be my mom's birthday. Ten birthdays we have missed now. No wonder I have felt a little funky today. It is that bond.
Your sunflowers are so pretty. They just make you smile, don't they? Miss my Momma too and think about her often even though it's been 20 years that she's been gone. It's like there's a Momma shaped hole in my heart that no one can fill.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sunflowers, they do bring some warmth to our freezing temps. Others have it worse, a cousin in Chicago showed his thermometer at 0. Here's a hug for this special day, I know you miss her like I miss mine.

What a bright and cheerful post! Thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteWe're having wonderful temps and no rain...heavy fog this morning made for dripping off the roof. But no rain.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone that is experiencing the cold stays warm too.
I know how you feel to miss your mom, my mom has been gone 13 years now.
It does make you lonely at times...it's a strong bond.
have a nice day! Pat
Thanks for the bright array of sunflowers! It brightened my day. It's cold here but at least no snow or ice!!
ReplyDeleteMothers are so special. Things like birthdays, Mother's Day and other holidays just make their absence hurt a little more than usual. Thoughts are with you today.
Judy
Thanks. My toes are cold!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about those dates that roll around. It is still so hard for me too. Which is also a reminder of how very much we were loved!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers!!!
xo Kris
Oh how I love sunflowers and they are so cheery! It's cold here, but not quite as cold as some folks have it. We are expecting freezing rain tonight though.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how it must feel about your mother. I know that bond. Sending you a hug.
Tammy
Thanks, Elaine, for sending us the warmth of the flowers.....but I'd rather have the chicken, if you don't mind. lol
ReplyDeleteYes, I know that funky feeling, my mom would have been 90 in February. She's gone almost 11 years. Thanks for thinking of us and sending warm thoughts. It is so darn bitterly cold. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you for the warmth of those beautiful flowers. We here near Chicago are so cold and have had snow this morning and more coming tonight. I won't complain as we had a mild winter up till now.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
I adore the Scottie salt and pepper shakers!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to loose a parent - I know.
Lynn
Thanks...I need to see some of my favorite country flowers while trying to stay warm.
ReplyDeleteFarmhouse hugs,
Cindy
Thank you for the "sunny" sunflowers! Did you pick those from your garden? My Mom been gone 13 years now but we never forget our Moms, do we? Bless them all.
ReplyDeleteWe have plenty of warmth here we could send you all some and have some left over, your sunflowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteMerle....
I love your sunflowers. We never stop missing them do we? Shelly and I are taking the kiddos to Mickey D's tomorrow to play in the play area if you want to meet us. Email me.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs to you on your mom's special day. That must be a dull ache that never quite goes away. xo
ReplyDeleteYour sunflowers are lovely!! Your Mom is there just as you have her in your heart.
ReplyDeleteIt was -29 (celsius) without the windchill yesterday. Today was a balmy -18. Your pictures make me long for spring.
ReplyDeleteOh and wanted to add that sunflowers are the one flower that remind my husband of his late father. There is something so happy about sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, bright, sunny sunflowers :)
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to brighten your day as you remember happier times with your mum. I cant imagine my life without mine. Big hugs to you Elaine xx
I Love love love the Sunflowers. They are one of my favorite flowers.. Yes, it's been cold here the last few days in South Carolina. Today we didn't get out of the 30's and had freezing rain earlier. While I enjoy the colder months because we don't get a lot of them I do so miss the flowers.. Thank you so much for this post. It made me smile :)
