Sending Some Warmth

I am sending all of you that are freezing, a bit of California warmth. We have had warm sunny weather this week and I know many of you are hunkered down with very low temps. Stay warm and safe. We have rain today which is much needed. The chickens love it and are splashing about in the water. Enjoy the sunflowers.

Today I just realized would be my mom's birthday. Ten birthdays we have missed now. No wonder I have felt a little funky today. It is that bond.

  1. Your sunflowers are so pretty. They just make you smile, don't they? Miss my Momma too and think about her often even though it's been 20 years that she's been gone. It's like there's a Momma shaped hole in my heart that no one can fill.

  2. Thanks for the sunflowers, they do bring some warmth to our freezing temps. Others have it worse, a cousin in Chicago showed his thermometer at 0. Here's a hug for this special day, I know you miss her like I miss mine.

  4. We're having wonderful temps and no rain...heavy fog this morning made for dripping off the roof. But no rain.
I hope everyone that is experiencing the cold stays warm too.
I know how you feel to miss your mom, my mom has been gone 13 years now.
It does make you lonely at times...it's a strong bond.

  5. Thanks for the bright array of sunflowers! It brightened my day. It's cold here but at least no snow or ice!!

Mothers are so special. Things like birthdays, Mother's Day and other holidays just make their absence hurt a little more than usual. Thoughts are with you today.

  7. Oh how I love sunflowers and they are so cheery! It's cold here, but not quite as cold as some folks have it. We are expecting freezing rain tonight though.

I can only imagine how it must feel about your mother. I know that bond. Sending you a hug.

  10. Thank you for the warmth of those beautiful flowers. We here near Chicago are so cold and have had snow this morning and more coming tonight. I won't complain as we had a mild winter up till now.

    Have a good day.

  19. Oh and wanted to add that sunflowers are the one flower that remind my husband of his late father. There is something so happy about sunflowers.

  21. I Love love love the Sunflowers. They are one of my favorite flowers.. Yes, it's been cold here the last few days in South Carolina. Today we didn't get out of the 30's and had freezing rain earlier. While I enjoy the colder months because we don't get a lot of them I do so miss the flowers.. Thank you so much for this post. It made me smile :)
