I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did. It was very small. Just seven of us.
I wanted to show you my Thanksgiving Tree I did in the front room of the house. I took a small tree and placed it among the crocks and put brown ornaments on it and stashes of autumn leaves. Today it was transformed into a woodland Christmas tree.
I do almost all the cooking for Thanksgiving on Wednesday. That way I just reheat and pop in the oven things at the last minute. I even do my mashed potatoes the day before and just scoop them all into the crock pot and refrigerate until the next day. A few hours before I place them in the crock pot base and turn on high stirring a few times. The kitchen is much less messy on the day of and I can relax more and enjoy everyone else.
My oldest is a hospice nurse and was called out for a couple visits but managed to make it just in time to eat. I was so thankful she could sit down with us.
It has been a very good year full of lots of good changes for our little family and we are so thankful to have our girls and a loving home.
What a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing and make everything but the turkey the day before. It's so much easier that way.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Ours was small also only 5 people. I made most of my stuff the day before. Had every little dishes to wash on thanksgiving day. But the day before I was swimming in them.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of 7 people being a small gathering...for me that's huge. Great to hear that you had a wonderful day.

ReplyDeleteI have a little woodland tree too. I't in our breakfast nook. It stays there all year long with changes for the seasons.
ReplyDeleteI do my meal the same way as you. I get to really enjoy my holiday that way.

I like your Thanksgiving tree and how you decorated with it among the crocks and pumpkins. I saw a Fall tree at Pier One this year and started collecting ornaments to eventually do that too. I ordered a couple of small trees on Amazon. I'll use one for that next year. This year, I plan to start small themed Christmas trees throughout the house. I'm excited! :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your beautiful family.
Love your Thanksgiving tree! Wonderful family photos. Glad everyone was together for the big meal. Happy belated Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteYou look so, so pretty in the last photo!! So, glad your family had a lovely holiday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea to decorate the tree for Thanksgiving! Setting up the tree and getting the lights on are the time consuming parts, now you can decorate at your leisure:>) You have the cutest darn family! I'm so glad you had a good Thanksgiving together!
