New Year's Eve Party Ideas

Happy New Year!! Are you having a party this year for New Year's Eve? We are and a full blown party with dancing and buffet and midnight toast. I am just beginning the preparations. We have taken some Christmas decorations down but have left a few of the trees for a little sparkle. I just started playing around with creating a New Year's Eve centerpiece. I need to head to Party City for some extra bling and fun hats and blowers. I did get a few things from Dollar Tree today.

I am doing a buffet of appetizers and cold cuts and hot hors d'oeuvres in the kitchen. Pinterest has given me some great ideas. I am also doing a snack table down in the den where the bar is and the dancing will be. We are rolling up the rug and moving out some of the furniture. One couch will go in a front room for extra seating.
In the dining room we will have a dessert bar set up. I think it will be fun to have the food spread out throughout the house.

My goal is to enjoy the party so I want the food set out when everyone arrives and  everything ready so I can dance and visit with our company. Bought a new dress and some shoes and we are getting all dolled up this year. So fun. We used to host big NYE parties when we were first married so I am so excited to do it again this year. We have been to so many other people's parties that it was time we returned the invite. If you are looking for some New Year's Eve ideas visit my Pinterest New Year's Eve page and see all the great ideas I have been pinning. Happy New Year!!

  2. Your party sounds like a lot of fun and it is so smart of you to have everything set so you can enjoy yourself.

Our entire street does a progressive dinner party, but this year we opted to rent a tent to go on the beach and have everyone sign up for portions of the dinner. I am in charge of appetizers so I will check out your Pinterest board.

I am picking my sister up in Covina tomorrow and then we are meeting our cousin in Claremont. I love Barbara Cheatley's. After I drop my sister off I plan a drop in to Country General Store.

    Happy New Year

  3. You know, I have been talking about hosting a New Year's Eve party for years now and to this day, I still haven't done it. I've never even been to one, so I wasn't sure how to plan it. I'll pop over to your pinterest page and check out your ideas, though and thanks. Maybe I can get enough ideas for next year.

  5. Sounds fun, but my party is going to be one of solitude at my cabin in the mountains reflecting with a glass of my favorite wine. A tradition for me every year. Happy new year to you
