Summer is here and if you have a garden you may soon be faced with bowls of tomatoes. Here are five fabulous recipes to use all those summer tomatoes.
1. Make Salsa
I could eat chips and salsa along with something ice cold to drink and call it dinner.
Lower in sodium and so much better tasting than jarred sauce.
I moved to Michigan and started a new blog (from iSavortheWeekend to NorthShoreBungalow). I haven't been able to plant anything until our move (we've been in our new home going on 10 days now). Do you know if it's too late for me to try to start growing some tomatoes? I'm so ready to try some of these recipes! Thanks! -Bev (p.s. would you please follow my new blog? Thx! http://www.northshorebungalow.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteElaine-- these all look so delish!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for ways to use up our tomatoes--If they'd just come on!
We have plants blooming all over the place and 1 tomato out there growing all by it's lonesome. :/
That Cuban Sandwich looks good.
On Whole Wheat I bet it'd be good too... maybe even broiled and then add the tomato and pickle at the last minute...opened faced sandwiches!
gonna give it a try!

Elaine, These all sound wonderful. I love fresh tomatoes in the summer, and try to make up for the lack of them the rest of the year when they taste like cardboard. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI love fresh tomatoes...they're not ready yet here in northern IL; it'll be awhile yet. There's nothing like fresh salsa, bruschetta, caprese salad and gazpacho. I'll check out your recipes!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I want to make the bruschetta this weekend. BTW That is the prettiest photo of you in your header. You are so, so pretty!
