Washing Silverware the Easy Way - Another Kitchen Quick Tip

Another in the quick tip series. How to wash silverware and flatware the easy way.

I love sharing little tricks that make cleaning the kitchen easier. Here is another great tip for washing your silverware. When you are preparing a meal, take a tall glass that is probably already sitting there ready to be washed. Fill it with a squirt of dish soap and hot water and as you dirty utensils, drop them into the hot soapy water.

By the time I am ready to wash dishes or load the dishwasher, the silverware and cooking utensils have soaked and the stuck on food comes right off or is super easy to swoosh off with my brush.

  1. Ha! That is exactly what I do, whether it's a tall glass or a saucepan that also needs to be washed. I put the silverware in it so that they get a head start. :-) As they say, 'great minds...' LOL

  3. My husband actually "taught" me that - he did when he was a bachelor and I thought it brilliant and have done so since.

Glad you shared this for anyone not doing - it is a big time scrubbing time saver! : - )

  7. We do this :) We use a cereal bowl from the morning and utensils used all day go in there! Once we wash dishes after dinner, they are all set!
