A Quick Visit To Shelly's Bliss Cottage

As always one of my highlights of the holiday season is a visit to Shelly's vintage Christmas cottage. I apologize that I did not take more pics of her cute vintage holiday decor but we were talking and sippin' coffee and time got away from me but it is too cute not to share even after Christmas. I visit every year and you can see part one of last year's vintage holiday home tour.

Vintage Christmas Cottage

Her tiered tray is filled with darling Christmas cups. So cute with those vintage deer cups. Have you ever seen those? 

This was my favorite corner and her husband was the inspiration for the little tree in the corner and it nestled in the red enamel pot set on the old red vintage stool is just perfect.

Her jadeite collection is huge and just a bit of it is on this cute red kitchen cart. I wish I would have taken more pictures of it.

It's that time of year...time for a holiday home tour of Shelly's Bliss Cottage. Her invite and my Christmas home tour while we sip coffee and chat, is one of my favorite Christmas traditions now. I hope she always invites me as long as she is decorating her home in vintage style.

Part two of my visit to Bliss Cottage is her pink and blue shabby chic Christmas bedroom.

Oh this darling pink room is so cute and Shelly is an expert at shabby chic bedroom decor ideas. I love this vintage girls in the old silver creamer. 

The top of this dresser is so wonderful. All decked out in pastel Christmas decorations.

Shelly is a master of display and this little tray with the blue and pink birdie tea set set with PINK Santa mugs is perfect.

Just look at the darling little pink vintage radio.

Who wouldn't want to curl up in this cozy pink chair in this darling vintage shabby chic bedroom. The shabby chic bedroom furniture all goes perfectly together.

Cozy Christmas At Bliss Cottage

Another wonderful little tour of the cozy Christmas cottage of my friend Shelly. Every year I look forward to an invite to come and see her delightful home. It is beginning to be a tradition and I have shared Christmas pictures of her home since 2011.

Shelly has the most darling cozy Christmas house I have ever seen and I could have taken many more pictures than the few I took today but the time is about friends and we had a nice time just visiting and catching up. Here are a few of the quick photos so you can take a peek at her Christmas decorations for 2015. She has her darling tree set up on a table and on the shelf behind, she used old green shutters as the backdrop for loads of vintage Christmas decor. Love the vintage red thermos collection against the green.

But this is the cabinet we all love and every year it is different but always a bit of jadeite. You can find the previous years  and see which one is your favorite.

Shelly collects vintage Christmas deer out of a love for those that her momma collected. She said this was her favorite vignette this Christmas and it is darling for sure.

I didn't even get into the kitchen and take pictures this year but you can see a lot of it in last year's tour.

I did snap some pictures of the cutest pink shabby chic bedroom all decked out for Christmas and I will share those tomorrow. Hope you enjoyed a little peek into Bliss Cottage all decorated for Christmas.

A Very Vintage Christmas

Our home is so cozy this year for Christmas and I'd say it is a very vintage Christmas. Hubby pulled out all the stops to make every little section just so. I don't even know if I will get to sharing the rest of the house because I am busy making Christmas merriment and wrapping this week and I want to feel that slow build up to the holiday like I did when I was a child.

Today I went to Target for a last few things and now I am done! So relieved. I will not step into Target until sometime after Christmas. I literally cannot handle the crowds. The thought of long lines and crowded aisles gives me such anxiety. I wish I could say it doesn't. I don't enjoy long lines and crowded stores at all. So I shop early and get it done. Now I will only visit the market between now and Christmas.

I love how the yellow and red vintage toy truck was the decision maker for the color scheme of this shelf. Those are hubby's toy trucks from his childhood. I told him I wanted little trees in them so he grabbed some at our favorite little store.

So we are set. Now I will finish the wrapping and then begin the baking. My youngest has a cold so we have stayed in and had to cancel a couple of things but I have honestly loved it. Not her cold but the staying in. That sounded wrong but staying in and turning on the twinkly lights and wrapping gifts is all the better for me. Though my poor girl. She is on the mend so I am hoping we are all well for Christmas.

So that is the kitchen nook all dressed for Christmas. I just love the yellow walls this year instead of the old bandaid beige I had before. The little sign hanging says, "Wanted: Jolly men bearing gifts." Isn't that what we all want? Have a very Merry vintage Christmas!

Cozy Cottage Christmas Tour Part One

You will love this cozy cottage Christmas tour, probably the cutest Christmas home ever! I want to give you a tour of my friend Shelly's cozy Christmas home. I just look forward to seeing her home every year all dressed for the holiday. Her vintage Christmas style is amazing.

I know it is after Christmas but you will love her Cozy Cottage Christmas Tour 2014.

Today is just the kitchen. I took so many pictures that I will break this up into a couple posts. It was dark and rainy too that day so hopefully the photos do her home justice. She set the table with the cutest Christmas candle vignette.

Just her Christmas cookie canisters and tins are amazing. 

I loved this little display with the red vintage salt and pepper shakers.

Shelly's dining area is so adorable. She layers her displays like no one else. I asked her how long it takes to get all of her decor out and she said about five eight hour days. But honestly, she loves it and it is a pleasure for her to decorate with Christmas past and present. Each year it is different and honestly I look forward to seeing it every Christmas. I hope she never stops inviting me. Thank you so much Shelly for letting me share your home on the blog and letting everyone else see your beautiful home.

Sunny Simple Life Christmas 2014

Well we have celebrated, ate and enjoyed good company. Christmas 2014 is in the books as they say.

I had a wonderful week of gatherings leading up to Christmas and one highlight was an annual trip to see my friend Shelly's house all decked out in the cutest vintage Christmas decor you have EVER seen. I wanted to do an entire post on the pictures I took. Do you think it is too late to share them now that Christmas has passed?

We baked and baked and then baked some more. Tins and bags of goodies left the house faster than I could bake. These peppermint kiss cookies were my new recipe this year. Just the cute colorful look of these cookies will keep them on our yearly list. I will share the recipe because they are so easy and look so fun.

On the 20th I had my group of friends through blogging over for a brunch. We had the best time and I am so lucky to have met such wonderful friends through this blog. I cherish these gals. I set the table simply but it is fun to get my Santa plates out each year.

                             
 Every year we gather at our friends house for their annual Christmas Eve party. We have known each other since childhood and grew up on the same street. They are like family to us.

Finally, at home, everyone tucked in bed, and lo and behold Santa came. This was the kids' tree this year.

One particular kiddo was very excited this year. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and now onto New Years. Most of our decor came down today. We left a couple trees that will stay until New Year's day but it feels good to have the house restored to order.

Christmas Kitchen Tour 2014 - Christmas Home Tour Part Two

Welcome to my Christmas Kitchen Tour for 2014. We like to change things up a bit each year and I think this year turned out to be on of my favorites. So come on in, grab a mug of something yummy and let's visit in my vintage kitchen.

Each year a hot chocolate station is a must. This year I used a small snowman cookie jar to hold our marshmallows for all the hot cocoa that we will enjoy.

Even the old '58 Western Holly oven gets dressed with a holiday towel.

I love gingerbread so it has been a theme in the kitchen for years.

Soon we will fire up the mixer and start our flurry of Christmas baking. My mom's best easy roll sugar cookie cutouts are so good. If you need a good cut out recipe, this is the one.

My gingerbread shelf decor is always a bit different. I can't help but add something new to the collection. And as always I have to give my hubby credit cause he does most of the decorating.

This year, one new addition is the vintage kitchen Christmas tree. It is my favorite tree this year, full of so many memories. You can read the story of it in my Christmas home tour part one.
